Profitable growth on Google and Amazon, not just more revenue.
For consumer brands, revenue is easy to buy and profit is not. We run Google Shopping, Performance Max and Amazon Ads against the return your margins actually need, and project it before the budget moves.
What does a CPG advertising agency do?
A CPG advertising agency manages the paid channels where consumer products are discovered and bought, usually Google Shopping and Performance Max, Amazon Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands, and Meta, and sets each channel’s target from product margins.
The most common problem we see is a blended ROAS target applied to every product. Products with different margins need different targets, or the account grows revenue while profit shrinks.
On Amazon, advertising and organic rank feed each other. We manage both together so ad spend builds lasting sales rank, not just paid orders.
Shopping and marketplace advertising built on margin.
Google Shopping & PMax
Feed quality, product segmentation by margin, and campaigns structured so best sellers do not starve new products.
Amazon Ads
Sponsored Products, Brands and Display with search term harvesting and negative keywords that keep ACOS in line.
Feed management
Titles, attributes and images that improve match quality on Google and Amazon.
Meta prospecting
Creative testing that finds new customers, measured on new-customer revenue.
Margin-based targets
ROAS and ACOS targets set per product group from real margins.
Profit reporting
Reports that show contribution after ad spend, not just platform revenue.
One target for every product quietly loses money.
We group products by margin and give each group its own target.
| Margin tier | Example margin | Break-even ROAS | Strategy |
|---|---|---|---|
| High | 60% | 1.7x | Push for volume and new customers |
| Medium | 40% | 2.5x | Grow while holding target |
| Low | 25% | 4.0x | Strict targets, bundles, or exclude |
| Hero products | Varies | By product | Protect rank and visibility |
Return on ad spend against your margin.
We set ROAS on Google and ACOS on Amazon from your contribution margin, then report profit after ad spend.
A 4x ROAS can lose money on a low-margin product and print money on a high-margin one. Targets have to know the difference.
Example math only. Your written projection uses your own numbers, market and history.
Where CPG budgets leak.
Consumer brand accounts usually lose money through one target for every product and through campaigns that cannibalize organic sales.
What we fix first
- One ROAS target across products with different margins
- Performance Max spending on brand searches you would win anyway
- Amazon search terms never harvested or negated
- Thin product feeds with poor titles and attributes
- Reporting platform revenue instead of profit after ad spend
Different jobs on different platforms.
Many shoppers research on Google and buy on Amazon, or the reverse. We plan both together so they do not compete for the same sale.
How we split roles
- Google Shopping and PMax: discovery and direct site sales
- Amazon Sponsored Products: capture shoppers on Amazon
- Amazon Sponsored Brands: protect brand searches and new products
- Meta: find new customers with creative testing
- One report: profit after ad spend by channel
Keep PMax from buying sales you would get anyway.
Brand exclusions
Stop PMax from claiming branded searches you already win.
Margin-based asset groups
Separate high and low margin products with their own targets.
Feed quality
Better titles and attributes improve match quality.
New-customer reporting
Judge growth on new customers, not repeat buyers.
Prove it on your own account first.
Projection
We review your catalog, margins and current accounts, then project revenue, ROAS and profit after ad spend in writing.
Build
We build the campaigns, landing page and tracking. A person signs off before anything launches.
Run
For qualified businesses our fee is $0 for 30 days. You cover ad spend only, with a $1,500 minimum, and get the numbers every week.
Decide
At day 30 we review real results on your own ad account. You decide whether to continue.
Shopping and Amazon advertising, answered plainly.
What is a good ROAS for a CPG brand?
There is no single good number. Your break-even ROAS is 1 divided by your contribution margin. A product with a 40% margin breaks even at 2.5x. Set targets above break-even for each product group.
What is the difference between ROAS and ACOS?
ROAS is revenue divided by ad spend. ACOS, used on Amazon, is ad spend divided by revenue. A 25% ACOS equals a 4x ROAS.
Should we run Performance Max or Standard Shopping?
Often both, with clear roles. Performance Max can scale well, but it needs good feeds, brand exclusions and margin-based segmentation to stay profitable.
Do you manage Amazon Ads and Google together?
Yes. Many shoppers research on Google and buy on Amazon, or the reverse. We plan budgets across both and report profit by channel.
How does the free 30-day Sprint work?
For qualified businesses we run your first campaign free for 30 days. You cover ad spend only, with a $1,500 minimum, and our fee is $0. We agree a success number in writing before launch and you decide at day 30.
How do you stop Performance Max from cannibalizing brand sales?
Use brand exclusions, run a separate brand search campaign, and judge PMax on new-customer revenue rather than total conversions.
Should CPG brands advertise on Amazon and Google?
Usually yes, with clear roles. Google drives discovery and site sales; Amazon captures shoppers already on Amazon. Plan budgets across both.
